In its inaugural National Small Business Compliance Pulse Survey, ComplyRight surveyed 300 small business employers (with five to 100 employees) to determine their biggest pain points in complying with federal, state and local employment laws.
Key findings include:
- Small business employers lack confidence in their awareness of employment laws. And yet, most are very confident in their readiness for a labor law investigation or legal action.
- Small business employers are concerned about the increasing complexity
of employment laws, but they are overly trusting of non-expert sources of information.
- The top employment law concerns among small business employers
correspond heavily with what’s in the news: healthcare legislation, employee leave laws and tax reporting requirements.
